“Open and Affirming” is a movement of more than 1,800 churches and other ministries in the United Church of Christ that welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) members. More than 350,000 members of the UCC belong to ONA churches—and our movement is growing rapidly.

In 2006 and 2007, respectively, the church moved into its own location on Charlotte Pike, and joined with the UCC. As they grew, the vibrant community of faith was known throughout the city for their compassionate ministry and advocacy, including for the queer community. In 2024, HTCC sold their Charlotte Pike building and now worships at 700 Bresslyn Road with their sister church, Brookmeade Congregational UCC.

At this point in time, we are cultivating a new identity that reflects our current congregation and beliefs: The Circle Community Church. We hope that you can help us in this process by joining our collective ministry. You can become a part of the new creation that God is making within our church to bring about life change for many generations to come. No matter who you are or where you are on your journey, know that you will be accepted and loved here just as you are. You are welcome here.
The Circle Community Church began as Holy Trinity Community Church in 1996, beginning active work with support of Nashville Cares. In 1999, the congregation moved to and rented space from Brookmeade Congregational UCC (United Church of Christ). In 2004, the HTCC established the Upper Room fellowship, which is not a quarterly fellowship and worship ministry in which all Nashville UCC congregations participate.
